The faster route to an Executive MBA for CGAs

Your CGA designation opens the door to a world of opportunity. Any position - Controller, Vice-President of Finance, CFO, even CEO - is potentially within your grasp. But rising to the top is not easy. The competition is intense. Companies are demanding higher qualifications than ever. How can you set yourself apart in such an environment? Your answer: the Athabasca University Executive MBA.

The AU online Executive MBA features a curriculum designed to augment accounting and financial knowledge with an in-depth examination of the key areas of management - managing strategy, information, people, resources, markets and operations.

What this program offers you:

AU and CGA-Canada have entered into an agreement that enables qualified CGAs to receive advanced standing and transfer credit in the Executive MBA.

advanced standing:
Advanced standing is an exemption from course assignments - students still receive course materials and write the comprehensive examination.  CGAs receive advanced standing in:

  • Financial and Managerial Accounting
  • Corporate Finance

transfer credit:
This is a direct transfer of credits based on previous coursework and experience - no additional materials, coursework or examination. CGAs receive transfer credit for:

  • One (1) Online Elective

  • a bachelor's degree, your CGA designation and at least three years of managerial experience that may include supervisory or professional experience with management level responsibilities,

OR

  • your CGA designation plus at least five years of managerial experience that may include supervisory or professional experience with management level responsibilities.
